[There’s some shuffling heard just behind the door before it swings open to reveal one (1) Eddie Munson, who looks like he had a hell of a night and is still feeling it. But he’s gotten a glass of water in his system since his text exchange with Steve, and there’s a little more life in his eyes versus the zombie-like state he was in just a few hours earlier.]
There’s everyone’s favorite delivery man. Give it here, I’m starving.
[He reaches out for the Chinese takeout. What passes for impatience might also be a willingness to take some of that burden off of Steve’s hands so he doesn’t have to stumble through the door trying to juggle too many items.]
Place is kind of a mess, but— It always is. Come on in and sit down.
[The trailer home is small, and yeah, a little messy. Not unlivable by any means, but it’s not like they have a maid. Eddie thinks about making that joke aloud. Has it said it before? Huh. Well, anyway.]
[ Steve rolls his eyes and shoves a few of the cartons into Eddie's waiting hands. He doesn't entirely trust his motor skills, but he'd also like to not be weighed down by dumplings and the like. ]
Yeah, yeah. Have you seen Wheeler's basement?
[ He doesn't elaborate as he steps in; Mike's whole Mike-ness pretty much speaks for itself.
Slowly, he glances around as he looks for a place to set the rest of the food down. ]
[The “living area” has a little coffee table (a normal table, temporarily pulled away from the wall into the middle of the room) that he can set the food down on. Eddie sets the example, following his own advice and swoops up a pile of clothes with his free arm, clearing up space on said furniture. He places the takeout down.]
You think if I’d have puked, I would’ve just… left it? Gross, man, no.
[Tosses the clothes behind one of two armchairs. Whatever. He needs to clean up later before his uncle comes home, but he’s got hours and hours to spare.]
I don't know, man. You could've been like . . . out of it or something.
[ He sets the food down on the table before sitting down next to him. ]
Look, I've seen guys after rough nights and all that and forgetting that they puked somewhere randomly in their place? That's like the least barbaric thing.
Yeah, but you trawl the party scene a lot more than I do, don’t you, Harrington?
[Parties aren’t exactly Eddie’s thing, not in the same way that most teenagers (or twenty year-olds) in Hawkins think about it. Not that he’s a stranger to late night bad decisions involving alcohol, but he just doesn’t run in the same circles that Steve does — or he didn’t, really, until somewhat recently. Now those circles very, very vaguely intersect.]
Or you did. Whatever. [He settles into his seat, then pretty much starts digging in. At some point, he wiggles his cheap chopsticks in the other’s direction.] We’re classy in this trailer park.
[Wry, but not even a hint of self-deprecation, really.]
yeah well I had elevator aftermath and then canon review

You didn't, uh— puke or anything, did you?
[ Speaking of messes. ]

[ He shakes his head, reaching for a carton. ]
I didn't know what you'd want, so I got a bit of everything.
