Within like the ten or twenty minutes it'll take for me to get there.

You're in luck because that's probably how long it's going to take to make.

I'm expecting a DAMN good sandwich.

I'm gonna start a timer to try and time this perfectly.

I can't promise it'll be the best damn thing you've ever eaten, but it'll probably be close.

The bar's high.

[ But okay, it will take him approximately nineteen minutes and thirty-seven seconds to get there. That's under twenty minutes at least. ]

Yeah, yeah, I'll coast over that bar even if I need a damn javelin to do so.

[ It is possible grilled cheese is also the only thing Eddie can make that doesn't come out of a can or a box. ]

[ When he gets out of his car, he raises his voice — like Eddie will hear him from wherever. This is fine. ]

That sandwich better be good, Munson!

[ Steve's voice is barely audible, but it's audible enough that Eddie can at least tell that he's here. He grins as he tosses the sandwich on a plate and double checks that he turned the stove off before tossing open the door and making a big deal out of presenting the plate, even going so far as to bow politely. ]

Your sandwich, my liege.

[ He pauses, looking between Eddie and the sandwich for a moment, before reaching over to take the plate. ]

This— okay, this looks better than the grilled bun. I'll give you that right off the bat.

[ There might have been a super cliché moment where their fingers brushed as Eddie hands off the plate to Steve, but he tries to play it cool. He leans back against the trailer and watches with anticipation, to see if Steve will end up liking it.

It dawns on him that he could have invited him inside, but oh well, too late now. ]

See? Damn good sandwich.

[ Steve only briefly notices that moment in a huh, was that nice? that was nice sort of way before promptly getting distracted by the sandwich, as all idiot 20-something boys tend to.

He lifts it off the plate and slowly takes a bite. Slowly. Chewing thoughtfully, even.

It's a moment or two before he swallows, nodding to himself. ]

Damn good sandwich.

[ The whole time, Eddie watches Steve expectedly for the reaction. Sure, he didn't get to taste it to be reassured that it was, in fact, as good as he hoped it would be,

but thankfully Steve's response is exactly in the ballpark of his expectations. He gives a celebratory pump of his arm and a yes! ]

Told you so. Now, did you want to come inside, or...?

Huh? — oh, right. Yeah.

[ He sets the sandwich back down on the plate and wipes at his mouth with his sleeve quickly. Inside. Sitting. Probably better. ]

[ He shakes his head in amusement as he leads the way inside the trailer, collapsing onto the couch, leaving a spot for Steve. Predictably, he takes up most of the couch with the way he lounges. ]

Now that I've lured you here with promises of delicious sandwiches...I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really have a game plan beyond that.
